NZMCA Rallies
Rallies are social gatherings held all year round throughout New Zealand, and are all about fun, entertainment and camaraderie amongst fellow members. Rallies provide new and potential members with the opportunity to meet like minded travellers forming new friendships.
While entertainment or activities may be planned at these rallies, the choice to take part in any, all or some is entirely your own; however, unless otherwise specified you must still pay the small rally fee requested. Also, if attending for part of the rally there may be a reduced fee or no charge at all, this will be determined by the venue and/or the organisers.
Area Rallies :
As each Area has different guide-lines for their rallies the appointment, duties and responsibilities of the Rally Marshal are determined by the Area. Generally, a Rally Marshal is in charge of the parking arrangements, the programme and the collection of rally fees.
Some Areas have regular opportunities for joining with neighbouring Areas for a rally; or a Rally Book which you are asked to sign when attending a rally; or opportunities for sharing a meal or entertainment on offer, others do not and are a time for 'doing your own thing'.
All aspects of organising Rallies are the responsibility of the Area concerned, please respect the conditions determined by the Area and the Rally Marshal.
Future Rallies & Special Events
The map function enabling rallies to be searched by area has been temporarily turned off. In the meantime, to view Future Rallies and Special Events advertised in our latest Motor Caravanner magazine - Part I, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5
Contact the Rally Marshall or relevant Area Secretary for further information on a particular rally or event.
Rally Forms
Rally Marshalls - Please have these forms completed at NZMCA organised rallies:
Send the Rally Expenditure Form and Rally Information Form back to the National Office.
Why collect expenditure data?
Collecting and returning rally expenditure data is strongly encouraged, as it helps convince Councils, Business Associations, property owners and other organisations of the value of supporting/encouraging NZMCA members to stay in their areas – not only for rallies, but also for freedom camping. It is not compulsory to collect and return the data, but it is a vital service to your fellow members.
Without rally expenditure data, we have no comeback to the common misconception that our members make no contribution when they stay in an area, or to the term “Red Wing Bludgers” which is often used by those trying to convince a council to ban freedom camping or to stop us having rallies on sites other than camping grounds. With rally expenditure data, we have hard and fast evidence of what contribution our members make, and it’s clear that we’re not just pulling numbers out of the air.
Thank you for providing this information. It's for the benefit of all our members.
Any event advertised in the "Motor Caravanner" is covered by a national Public Liability Policy. For details please contact the Secretary-Manager.
