Five Important Things On Why You Should Attend A Self-Containment Day (UPDATED)

02 October 2017

Summer is just around the corner and the burning question is- is your vehicle’s self-containment suitability all sorted? If it’s not or you have nagging questions on how the whole thing is done, then maybe it pays to consider going to a Self-Containment Day organised by your local NZMCA Area.

If you’re still not convinced, here are five compelling reasons courtesy of NZMCA Board Member and Self-Containment Officer to the Board Pete Willcox on why you should consider it.

1. Self containment days are deliberately scheduled before the summer rush so to avoid disappointment don't leave it to the last minute. You can renew anytime before the old one expires.

2. By attending a self containment day you don’t run the hassle of contacting volunteers who may be on holiday or doing some down time.

3. It's usually easier for our guys to perform the check properly as these days are held somewhere there is a pit. This should make the whole process a lot quicker

4. You can usually get an electrical certificate at the same time

5. There will be a number of SCO's there so will have a great cross section of knowledge about all things motor-homing so for new members this is a great place to ask your questions.

Here’s a list of upcoming Self-Containment Days- for the full details, log into the Members Portal (if you haven't yet) on the NZMCA website and look them up under the Rallies and Events tab. Remember that this is an NZMCA-member only event.
