Hororata Glow Festival
A festival where everything GLOWS!
The Hororata Community Trust is excited to bring the Hororata Glow Festival to our community for the fourth time. Building on the past three events the Hororata Glow Festival promises to be even more spectacular in 2023.
The hot air balloon Night Glow will again light up the sky. Be amazed as these giant balloons glow in unison to music*. Prior to the Night Glow performance, people will be able to walk inside a giant cold inflated hot air balloon as well as interact with the balloon crews.
Surrounding the hot air balloons will be a magical festival where everything will GLOW!
The Hororata Glow Festival will host the best of Selwyn food and wine, attractions and activities. As well as offering a cultural feast with different food vendors.
*the balloons do not leave the ground during the performance.

- Early Bird Adult ticket only $19.50 each
- General Admission adult tickets $24.50 each
- Kids under 16 years go FREE
All ticket purchasers will go in the draw to win a balloon flight for four people with Ballooning Canterbury. Valued at $1580.00. T’s and C’s apply.
There will be no gate sales. All tickets to the event will be sold through Eventfinda
Certified Self Contained Motorcaravan Parking
Overnight parking is available in the Hororata Domain for fully self-contained motorhomes. Please note that only motorhomes and caravans may park in this area, if you have friends or family coming to the event they must park in the main car park.
Motorhome parking is open for entry during the following times:
- Friday, 12th May from 12pm - 6pm
- Saturday, 13th May from 9am -2pm
- Please note, you cannot access the motorhome parking outside of the above hours.
All vehicles must depart by Monday, 15th May by 12pm
*** PLEASE NOTE ***
- A $10 donation per van, per night - cash only please. The motorhome parking will be managed by the NZMCA volunteers.
- You must be certified self-contained, camping in tents is not permitted.
- Dogs are allowed in the motorhome area, but not in the event venue. Dogs must be on a lead at all times and cleaned up after.
- You are required to be a ticket holder of the Hororata Night Glow Festival to be able to park in the Motorhome/Caravan parking area.
- Access to the venue is only available during the event
- You must pre-purchase your tickets online - no gate sales
