New Year's Race Day at Tauherenikau 2024

Bring the family and join us for our first (and most famous) race day of the new year!

With live music, kids bouncy castles, miniature train rides and food vans as well as a fantastic line-up of racing events.

Races:
There will be 14 race meetings on the day -  6 harness and 8 gallops. The first meet will start at 10.48am and last race at 5.47pm.

Transport Options
The club provides a pick-up and drop-off service from the Featherston railway station on new year race days. The train leaves Wellington at 9.55am and returns around 5.00pm. All you have to do is to walk-in, walk-out and have a great day at Tauherenikau!

Entry to the races is $20 per person at the gate. Kids are free!

Secure on-site/overnight parking will be available for the event.

• Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead and under control at all times. Please clean up after them.
• Early arrivals are welcome, but please observe venue opening and closing times.
• Powered sites are SOLD OUT and non-powered sites are available at $20 per Motorhome/Caravan for two people.
• Extra adults are $7.50 per night and kids under 15 are $4 per night. 
• All prices include the full use of facilities, including showers, toilets, laundry, kitchen and dining. There is potable water available from all taps.
• You are able to secure your parking space by pre-booking here. Sites should also be available on the day for any latecomers.
