Omakau Trots 2023-24

This New Year's Eve, enjoy a  BYO night with DJ entertainment. Stay on to experience the iconic annual ” Omakau Trots “ race meeting set to be held Monday 2nd of January 2024 which is regarded as one of New Zealand’s most iconic Race Meetings. 

All self-contained vehicles welcome. Toilets are also available.

Register for the event before noon on Xmas Eve and be in to win one of three $50 betting vouchers for Race Day!

The Omakau Trots cater for all ages with free children's entry and entertainment, a Fashion in the Field contest, plenty of food and beverage stalls, and of course, some "edge of your seat" racing. There is a great family atmosphere and you can bring a picnic along if you wish and enjoy a great day out. While we can't guarantee the weather, we'll give it our best shot to provide a sunny, fun-filled, Central Otago day!

Packages on offer

New Year’s Eve & Races: 

• DJ entertainment for New Year’s Eve.
• Parking for 3 nights from Dec 31st to Jan 3rd.
• Free admission for Race day.
• Receive free ODT race page.
• 1 Race book per van.
• $45 per person for 3 nights with New Year’s Eve Entertainment.

New Year’s Eve only:

• Parking for one night and Entertainment $25 per person.

Races only Package: 

• Parking for 2 nights (Jan 1st and 2nd).
• Free admission to Races.
• Receive free ODT race page.
• 1 Race book per van.
• $20 pp for 2 nights                                                                                                                   

Other info

• We do offer a Dump Station ( closed Jan 1-2nd Feb due to horse float arrivals)
• Maximum capacity will be 250 Motorhomes, first in first served.
• Parking wardens will park you on arrival.
• Our physical address is 326 Racecourse Road, Omakau.
• Dogs must be on leads at all times due to the presence of horses and must be wormed in the month prior to coming.
• Bring your golf clubs, mountain bikes or fishing rods!
