Get Along to Tussock Country!

Country music buffs will be living the dream! Get along to New Zealand’s national Music Festival – Tussock Country.

The festival incorporates the MLT New Zealand Gold Guitar Awards, New Zealand Country Music Awards, a celebration of 40 years of the MLT Songwriting Award and a host of other fantastic country music events. This 9-day festival will run from 29 May – 6 June 2021 in Gore.

It’s an extravaganza of over thirty country music themed events, fantastic concerts including a range of both New Zealand and Australian artists. You can share your musical talent by entering the MLT New Zealand Gold Guitar Awards or the MLT Songwriting Award or by hitting the streets and entering the Freeze Ya Bits Off Busking.  Entries open on the 22 January 2021. The full programme for the festival will be available from www.tussockcountry.nz in early December and tickets go on sale on the 5 February 2021.

Get ready for the energy and enthusiasm of Top Paddock, New Zealand’s flagship event for contemporary country music.

Top Paddock will be the headline event that kicks off the Tussock Country Music Festival, delivering a dynamic line-up of national country music stars.

MLT New Zealand Gold Guitar Awards

Join in and celebrate raw country music talent at New Zealand’s greatest country music event, the NZ Gold Guitar Awards.

For almost half a century, hundreds of amateur country musicians of all ages have travelled to Gore, Southland, to compete for the coveted Gold Guitar Award.​

Book in to stay for the festivities: Gore A&P Showgrounds (Campgrounds).

If you're attending the Tussock Country Music Festival, the showgrounds is a great place to stay!

The Gore Agricultural & Pastoral Showgrounds is located in Bury St, just off State Highway 1 at the south end of Gore. Here you will find an extremely neat park-like setting on 11.2 hectares of land. The Gore Town & Country Club, Gore Multi-sports Centre, all-weather hockey turf and the town centre are all close by.
