2020 Board Election and Notices of Motion

2020 Board Election and Notices of Motion declaration of final results

In regard to the President and Vice President roles, the Board have appointed Bruce Stanger as interim president until an election can be held. This will occur this year as soon as possible within the notice and voting timeframes required. Bruce has announced that he will stand.

Ross Hamilton has resigned from his Vice President role and the Board intend to fill this position at their April meeting.

For the 2 vacancies on the Board, Sharron King and Brian Stanley got fresh terms with 6,798 and 3,840 votes respectively.

The rest of the candidates got the following:

For the 2020 Notice of Motion 1 - To remove the annual membership subscription discount rate base on years of membership. (75% threshold required), votes received were:
AGREE 7,491 
DISAGREE 3,123 
INFORMAL 2 
BLANK VOTING PAPERS 212

The majority of those that voted (70.58%) voted AGREE to Notice of Motion 1. As it did not meet the threshold, I therefore declare Notice of Motion 1 is not carried.

For the 2020 Notice of Motion 2 - To add a new rule to the Constitution to recognise long time membership of the Association. (75% threshold required), votes received were:
AGREE 5,383 
DISAGREE 5,175 
INFORMAL 0 
BLANK VOTING PAPERS 270 

The majority of those that voted (50.99%) voted AGREE to Notice of Motion 2. As it did not meet the threshold, I therefore declare Notice of Motion 2 is not carried.
