Welcome everyone; it was great to catch up with so many members at the National Rally & AGM. Congratulations must go to the Eastland Area on the successful running of this major event. The program and entertainment was first class.
Congratulations also to the team of volunteers who have worked so hard on restoring the Association’s #1 motorhome; it was fantastic to see it fully restored to, or maybe even better than it originally was.
During the AGM, new Life Memberships for outstanding service to the NZMCA were awarded to: Ross and Carol Hamilton, Brian and Cath Purdie, Louise Persico and Neville and Barbara Stirling. Congratulations to all, we appreciate the work that you have done for the Association.
The Board Election results were:
Vice President – Ross Hamilton, 4784; Sharron King, 2853. Congratulations Ross.
Board – Peter Wilcox, 4799; Marilyn Taylor, 3451; Jan Ballantyne, 2278; Mike Richards, 1517; Peter Thompson, 1497; Phil Jackson, 1263.
Congratulations to Peter and Marilyn on their re-election and thank-you to all who stood.
The Board still has to co-opt to fill the position vacated by Neville Stirling’s resignation and we are hoping to do this at the April meeting.
Remit Results: Remit 1 – Passed; Remit 2 – Passed; Remit 3 – Lost; Remit 4 – Passed; Remit 5 – Passed; Remit 6 – Passed; Remit 7 – Lost; Remit 8 – Lost.
Thank you to all those members who took the time to participate in the voting process.
In late March a members delegation of six, three Board Members (myself, Peter Wilcox and Brian Stanley) and three National Office staff (Bruce Lochore, James Imlach and Gillian Rutherford) will be traveling to England to meet with their Caravan and Motorhome Club.
We have studied the English club – which was established some 50 years before us – and how they have grown and note that in many instances we are following the same path. With this in mind we have put together an agenda and are hoping to learn more about the way they operate and how we can benefit from their model. We will report on our findings in the next issue of The Motor Caravanner.
When using our Parks please remember members must sign in and pay on arrival. If you are unsure of how long you will be staying, just sign in for the days you are sure that you will be there and if you decide to stay longer, sign in again.
Everyone using Parks must sign in, if paying with the app there is a column on the form for you to record this.
