How DOC facilities will be operating at Alert Level 2

Thank you to all of our members who are playing their part to help stomp out the Delta variant of Covid-19. While Auckland still remains at Level 4, a big part of the country is now in Level 2.

Alert Level 2 means there are or may be COVID-19 cases in the community, but the situation is largely under control. DOC facilities are open, including huts, campsites and toilets – with special guidelines for use. Visitor centres are preparing to open.

Visitors need to plan ahead and take responsibility for their health and the health of others, including when they are recreating in the outdoors and staying in DOC accommodation. Visitors are also strongly encouraged to wear face coverings indoors, including huts, where physical distancing cannot be maintained and it’s practical to do so.

Bookings for huts and campsites are open, but people who want to cancel under Alert Level 2 may do so with 100% refund.

Full information is available on the DOC website.
