NZMCA Park Advisory: construction work at Ngongotaha

**IMPORTANT NOTICE NGONGOTAHA NZMCA PARK: As per the above plan, there will be some disturbance and restricted access to Ngongotaha Park from the 9th to the 20th of March 2020.

Contractors and heavy machinery will be on site to seal the driveway from the gate to the dump station, while also levelling the middle and lower parking areas. Please be extra mindful of any potential hazards and observe all signs / requests from contractors.

Stage 1 – access to the upper and middle parking areas, along with the dump station, water and bins, will be temporary restricted. However, members are welcome to camp down on the lower parking area during this stage of the project. Wheel chocks may be required. Please walk up the boundary adjacent to the railway crossing to access the registration shed and clothes lines. The Gull Service Station in Ngongotaha township has a public dump station, if you require access to one while in the area.

Stage 2 will commence immediately following the completion of Stage 1. While access to the lower parking area will be off-limits, members will have access to the remainder of the park.

Please note, factors outside of our control may affect the project commencement and completion dates. We will endeavour to update members as best we can if there is a significant change to these dates. You are welcome to contact Ina Savelio, Property and Projects Coordinator, at the National Office with any questions ([email protected]).

The NZMCA apologies for any inconvenience to your travel plans. We have aimed to start work outside of the busiest period of the year, in line with contractor availability and prior to winter. Ngongotaha is a very popular site and with the steady growth in membership this work is necessary to help improve access and increase capacity all year-round.

Lastly, a massive thanks to the Rotorua Area Committee Chairman, Kevin Duck, and his team of volunteers for the time and energy they have spent working on this important project.
