Ready for adventure?

Six top tips from our friends to help you get adventure-ready for summer

#Tip 1: Getting safely there and back

Regardless of what you’re driving or towing, it will probably be bigger than your car. We all know driving a big rig around can be awkward and take time to get used to – even if you’ve done it before.

#Tip 2: Before-you-go vehicle safety checks

Nothing ruins your day more than having to pull over on the side of the road because something went wrong with your vehicle. With a million other things you need to do before you leave, it’s only human to forget! Here’s some pre-trip tips from our friends at VTNZ and Carters Tyres to get you road ready.

#Tip 3: Gear up and check the gear you’ve got is adventure ready

Love cycling? Did you know our newest partner, Torpedo7, can service your bike at 20 of their stores nationwide? Get your bikes checked before you tick off another trail this summer.

#Tip 4: Keep your stuff safe when you're away

More and more Kiwis are using tech to protect their home and contents while they're away. Like video doorbells, smart cameras and smart lights. It sounds hard and expensive but it's not.

#Tip 5: Don’t wing it, book it - you’ve got nothing to lose!

If you’re planning to island hop for your next adventure, we recommend you pre-book to secure your preferred sailings. Cook Strait Ferries have experienced very high demand from domestic tourists and freight for the last 1-2 years and vehicle space can be hard to get at short notice.

#Tip 6: Pack your NZMCA app and use the journey planner

Use our app to discover over 2,200 great value places to camp and facilities to make exploring easy. If you haven’t already, download the NZMCA app before you go.
