Thank you to the nearly 400 members who completed the survey and congratulations to Graeme & Marion Simpson of Whangarei (#55432), Norm & Noeline Ritchie of Orewa (#9551), and Cliff McChesney & Sandy Silberer of Waihi (#81450) for taking home a prize pack.
Your feedback is important as it will help the NZMCA Board and Greenfleet consider the future direction of the Greenfund.
The survey showed that about one-third of respondents were aware of the Greenfund prior to taking the survey and most first heard about the initiative through The Motor Caravanner magazine and NZMCA website.
More than one-third of those who responded were willing to financially support the Greenfund. Reasons for not being able to support the fund included personal financial constraints, wanting further information about the programme, and ongoing support for other projects.
Importantly, many members understood the purpose and benefits of the Greenfund, including its link to offsetting motor caravan emissions with planting native trees.
Also, more than 80 per cent of survey participants are either interested or open to taking part in native tree planting days, with health/age related issues the main reason people are unable to participate.
Many members who provided written feedback commended the Association for taking on this environmental initiative.
However, those members unsupportive of the Greenfund are not convinced it is something the NZMCA should be involved in. Some also believed the Association should explore alternative funding options. Thank you again to all who took part – this feedback will feed into a discussion document for the Board’s October 2018 meeting in Cromwell.
