This New Year's Eve, enjoy a BYO night with DJ entertainment. Stay on to experience the iconic annual ” Omakau Trots “ horse race meeting set to be held Friday 2nd of January 2026 which is regarded as one of New Zealand’s most iconic Race Meetings. The Omakau Trots cater for all ages with free children's entry and entertainment, a Fashion in the Field contest, plenty of food and beverage stalls, and of course, some "edge of your seat" racing. There is a great family atmosphere and you can bring a picnic along if you wish and enjoy a great day out. While we can't guarantee the weather, we'll give it our best shot to provide a sunny, fun-filled, Central Otago day!

Important Information:

• We do offer a Dump Station for all Motor Homes etc. (this will be closed Jan the 1st and 2nd due to horse float arrival)
• You will be parked on arrival by a parking team, if you wish to park with friends, please arrive together
• Our physical address is 326 Racecourse Road, Omakau
• Dogs must be on leads at all times due to the presence of horses and must be wormed in the month prior to coming
•  Bring your golf clubs, mountain bike or fishing rod! We can advise many local activities including dining and recreation
• Toilets available plus rubbish disposal
