Visit the Shearing Capital of the World!

Proudly organised by the Waitomo District Council, the Great NZ Muster is an annual event unique to the King Country. A cross between a country fair and a rural extravaganza, it truly is kiwi heartland at its best.

Everywhere you look, there’s something happening! Te Kūiti’s main street is transformed with sheep themed signs decorating shop fronts, sidewalks are lined with fantasticfood stalls, arts and crafts displays, raffles and more! Enjoy everything that catches your eye, while listening to some exciting entertainment. Don't forget the famous running of the sheep at 2pm!

The 2026 Great New Zealand Muster will take place on Saturday 11 April from 10am to 3pm.

Certified Self Contained Motorhome/Caravan Parking

For those attending the muster, parking for self-contained motorhomes and caravans is available at the Te Kuiti Domain.

There is NO COST for parking up, and bookings are NOT required - First come, first served.

Entry into the Domain is Strictly after 1 pm on Friday 10th April and depart by 8 am on Monday 13 April 2026. NO Early Arrival and Queuing is permitted in Taupiri Street, this will obstruct access for Emergency Services, Residents, and the Warehouse Store.

Pets are allowed in the parking area. All pets must be on a lead at all times and you must pick up after them.

The Te Kuiti Primary School Hall is available for NZMCA members Happy Hour on Friday and Saturday. Bring cash no Eftpos. Entertainment is provided on Saturday night in the Hall for Members

Directions
From the North:
Entrance to the Te Kuiti Domain from the North cross the rail line into Rora Street drive past The Warehouse turn left into Alexander Street then turn left again into Taupiri Street proceed to the end and follow the parking marshals instructions.

From the South:
Drive down Rora Street past the New World Supermarket turn right into Alexander Street, then left into Taupiri Street then proceed as above, parking will be available from after 1pm.
