Whitianga is the main settlement of the Mercury Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand. An attractive township with a deep-water harbour, Whitianga is a place where you can do a little or a lot - the pace of life can be as busy or as calm as you choose.

Whitianga has been continuously occupied for more than a thousand years since Maori explorer Kupe's tribe settled here after his visit in about 950 A.D. now a thriving coastal town with 4,000 permanent residents.
