Description

The path gently descends down to the Coal Creek valley though a mixed beech-podocarp forest.

The pool below the falls is a nice place to cool off with a swim in the hot summer months.

Take particular care to look out for underwater rocks and logs before jumping in.

Getting there

From Greymouth follow SH6 northeast for 8 km to Runanga. Turn right down Seddon Street and right into Ballance Street. There is a carpark at the end of Ballance Street.
