Things to know

This park is a designated mountain bike park but during work hours, there are often council contractors using the main roads to access sites with heavy machinery.

Parihaka is our flow and gravity styled park located within an easy 5 minute drive or 15 minute ride from the CBD.

The park offers a range of Grade 3-5 gravity oriented trails built by local builders Trail Flow, Whangarei Trail Builders and Southstar Trails. There are also some oldschool XC singletracks and a shorter kids/beginner trail around the lower reaches of the park.

The park can be accessed from the carpark on Abbey caves Road, or from the gate opposite the toilet block near the summit of Memorial Drive if you're riding from the CBD and feel like a good climb. The park is open 24/7 year round, although due to the hard clay surface of some trails it is best ridden in the summer months.

The easy grade 2 trails are all gravel covered and offer year round riding suitable for all levels.
